Combined application of organic manure and chemical fertilizers stabilizes soil N-cycling microflora

چکیده

• The abundance of N-cycling genes differently responded to NPK application. Chemical application greatly altered the microbial community structure. Soil acidification was main driver for variation in community. Manure addition beneficial stabilizing Straw and manure are widely applied agricultural systems, shape soil microflora. However, we still lack a comprehensive understanding how these organic materials structure communities. In this study, metagenomic analysis performed investigate compositional communities 30-year long-term experiment under five fertilization regimes: no (Control), chemical only (NPK), with wheat straw (NPK + HS), pig PM), cow CM). Long-term differentially changed gene HS resulted similar pattern terms PM CM significantly increased most that Control. Further revealed serious caused by major factor alkaline manure, rather than straw, stabilized presumably alleviating acidification. These results strong impact on illustrated possibility resolving nitrogen-related environmental problems manipulating pH acidified soils.

The Combined Use of Chemical and Organic Fertilizers And/or Biofertilizer for Crop Growth and Soil Fertility

Plant nutrients are essential for the production of crops and healthy food for the world’s expanding population. Plant nutrients are therefore a vital component of sustainable agriculture. Increased crop production largely relies on the type of fertilizers used to supplement essential nutrients for plants. The nature and the characteristics of nutrient release of chemical, organic and biofertil...

Effect of Organic and Chemical Nitrogen Fertilizers on Grain Yield and Yield Components of Wheat and Soil Fertility

Effects of organic manure (poultry manure) applied alone and integrated with inorganic fertilizer (urea) on yield and yield component, N-uptake and soil fertility in wheat-maize cropping system was evaluated in a field experiment at Nuclear Institute for Food and Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan. Poultry manure was applied alone and were integrated in different proportions with mineral nitrogeno...

Effect of long-term combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers on soil nematode communities within aggregates

A long-term fertilization experiment was conducted to examine the effects of different fertilization practices on nematode community composition within aggregates in a wheat-maize rotation system. The study was a randomized complete block design with three replicates. The experiment involved the following four treatments: no fertilizer, inorganic N, P and K fertilizer (NPK), NPK plus manure (NP...

Substitution of inorganic fertilizers with organic manure reduces nitrate accumulation and improves quality of purslane

Growers often apply high amounts of chemical fertilizers for vegetable production and this application contributes to concerns about nitrate levels in food. An experiment was conducted to investigate soil N amendment effects for reducing the nitrate accumulation and improving the quality of fresh purslane (Portulaca ...
